About Us
A letter from our Founder
In May of 2022, my wife Jodie and I lost our 18-year nephew in the Chicago area to Suicide. November 2022 that same year, 6 months later I lost one of my closest friends, Brian Zeiger in his 40’s to Suicide. I decided then and there I was going to create a platform that would allow the community to come together to fight mental depression and suicide. In early 2023, BZ memorial events was formed. The idea behind our events is to create an atmosphere that is relaxed and stress free that allows those that have been affected, as well as those that have not been affected by mental depression and suicide to come together to discuss, support, and participate in this much needed fight against this terrible epidemic, while at the same time participating in top notch events and having a memorable and enjoyable experience in doing so. In September 2023 BZ Memorial Events held its inaugural annual event, the Brian Zeiger Memorial Golf Tournament at Acorns golf links in Waterloo, IL. The event was sold out with 144 golfers and a waiting list. We were able to give a check for a little under $5,700.00 to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. With that kind of success, we found so many that want to participate but are not golfers. This feedback from the community led to the creation of Jam’n in June. This will be an annual one-day concert festival held in Waterloo, IL which will bring all kinds of acts from cover bands to large mainstage performers allowing all to participate in saving lives. To be launched in June 2025. With the support of the community, businesses, and participants these events and future events will become a staple in the area for all to look forward to and enjoy for years to come. We here at BZ Memorial Events are extremely excited and are looking forward to growing and participating with the St. Louis metro communities in this fight against mental depression and suicide. On behalf of myself and the Board of Directors at BZ Memorial events. We wish Blessings to all and live well.
